What is a Mathom?

Mathom \ ‘ma-them \ (noun)

Origin: From Old English, meaning “treasure” or “precious gift”;

An object of value or interest, frequently exchanged or gifted within a
community, symbolizing shared heritage and appreciation for craftsmanship.

We are creating a community-anchored craft center that brings together shared workspace, education, retail, and gathering spaces to support artists and makers at every stage of their work.

Meet the Team

Will Donovan

Founder & Executive Director

Will is the founder of Mathom House and the owner of Donovan Pottery, an established, profitable ceramics business with a national audience. He brings over a decade of experience building creative enterprises that integrate craft, education, storytelling, and community engagement. As Executive Director, Will oversees organizational strategy, operations, partnerships, programming direction, and long-term sustainability. He is responsible for aligning vision with execution across all divisions of Mathom House.

Beth Rish

Director of Studio & Retail Operations

Beth serves as General Manager, overseeing day-to- day operations of the studio, makerspace, and retail store. She brings strong organizational leadership and deep familiarity with creative studio environments, customer experience, and operational systems. Beth is responsible for staff management, scheduling, inventory flow, studio operations, and ensuring consistent, high-quality experiences for members, students, and visitors.

Adam Daughhetee

Director of Hospitality & Strategic Partner

Adam has been the owner and operations manager of Wandering Bard Meadery since 2017. Wandering Bard Meadery started as a small mead production facility, but quickly grew to a full service winery, taproom and restaurant in 2020. During this time he managed production, kitchen, and bar staff as well as all marketing and relationships with patrons, contractors, suppliers, and vendors. In 2023 he took over management of all administrative duties and lead mead/ cider/wine production. Adam has a Bachelor of Science in IT Business Management and 23 years in the Information Technology field before pursuing a passion for the mead and wine industry. He brings all of his technology and business administration experience to the art of craft beverage service and community.
