After I left my university clay studio with degree in hand, I tried to make a career from this passion I found at school, and I realized something very important that none of my art professors prepared me for...
Being a working artist is not for the faint of heart. There's a mountain of difference between learning how to make pottery in school, and what it takes to make your way as an "real artist"
Ceramics is a difficult path on its own, and the resources to help lower the bar to becoming a working potter were far and few between. I had a dream even all those years ago of creating a space where craft, story, and community came together to create powerful personal transformation in the lives of those who wanted to pursue a creative life.
I spent the next 15 years chasing every avenue that would let me learn and grow as a professional pottery business owner and artist.
From apprentice, studio manager, educator, clay customer service rep, production potter, six-figure studio owner, and creative director for one of largest ceramic supply stores in the country- I've wound my way back to my original dream: Creating a craft school and community where creatives can thrive.
This is it!
